SHERFORD ROAD: WORKS AT NETTLEHAYES JUNCTION
Works to remove the mini roundabout at the Nettlehayes and Hartwell Avenue junction are due to begin on Monday 19 October 2026 and are expected to be completed within one week.
The mini roundabout was installed earlier this year as part of the approved Sherford Road Traffic Calming scheme. Following feedback from local residents, Plymouth City Council has requested its removal. The Sherford Consortium will fund and carry out the works, as they fall within the Sherford Road Traffic Calming project, which is a planning obligation for the development.
The works will include:
- Removal of the mini roundabout
- Removal and repositioning of associated signs and lights
- Reinstatement of the original junction white lining
- Resurfacing of the junction area.
The works are taking place at the Nettlehayes and Hartwell Avenue junction only:
- Temporary traffic lights will be in place at the junction during the works
- Resident access will be maintained at all times
- There will be no disruption to power or other services
- Working hours will be 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday
- Emergency contact details will be clearly displayed on temporary signage
