MONTHLY UPDATE: SEPTEMBER
September sees improvement works continuing across the site, alongside the start of preparatory work for Sherford's new pitches and a boost to bus connections.
Bus Route Extension
The Stagecoach Service 4 bus route has extended into Phase 2D, giving residents in the Urban Quarter direct access to a regular bus route for the first time. Two new bus stops have been installed to serve the route, on Equinox Drive and Dewpoint Way, with timetables displayed at both. The loop operates in both directions, meaning residents can now catch a bus towards Plymouth City Centre or towards Plympton from stops much closer to home.

Swale Improvement Works
Work on the swales alongside Aquarius Drive and Gemini Road is continuing, with the project progressing as planned. This project is an important part of Sherford's sustainable drainage system and new liners are being added to safely channel water and prevent soil erosion.
The phase of work nearest the play area and skate park has been carried out first and the access bridges will be reopened as soon as this section is finished. Works will then continue towards Gemini Road and the Sherford Road junction, following the natural fall of the land.
New Pitches
Work is due to start next week on the culvert crossing, ramp and car park serving Sherford's new football pitches and cricket pitch. These are located in the green space above Aries Lane. No road closures are planned, with all work taking place from within the site.
Phases 1.1
Gulley clearance work will continue across Phases 1.1 from the week commencing 14th September. More information will be shared here ahead of this work starting.
Phase 1B Estate Improvement Works
Improvement works are continuing across Phase 1B. Falcon Mews has now been tarmacked, and block paving on Strawberry Lane is complete, with the remaining surfacing and pavement work ongoing. At the Buzzard Way intersections, work is progressing, with block paving still to be completed.
Diversions remain in place while this continues, which is expected to take a further four to six weeks.
Hercules Road
Residents are advised that traffic lights and traffic calming measures planned for the top of Hercules Road, at the junction with Deep Lane, are likely to cause congestion in this area. Traffic management will be in place for approximately 14–16 weeks to enable installation of a new traffic light system and a new filter lane into the Business Park.
Dates are still to be confirmed and further details will be communicated as soon as they are available. This update is provided as advance notice.
Local Centre
Enabling works are continuing at the Local Centre. A pause was taken to enable the Sherford Community Land Trust Summer Fun Day to take place, work then restarted after this short delay. Works are progressing as quickly as possible ahead of the new school term.
Site Maintenance and Landscaping Update
In the Country Park, new accessible gates at several locations have been installed to improve access for all visitors. In Phase 2D, hard landscaping at Key Space 3B has been completed, with soft landscaping now also finished. Tree and vegetation clearance has taken place at the Business Park to enable the installation of new drainage, and further clearance work has been carried out at Hercules Road ahead of a planned water main crossing.
