A modern town in a traditional setting

A vibrant new town

As an entirely unique new town in Devon, Sherford will have its own micro-economy, with everything a modern sustainable community needs to live, work and thrive.

Already busy and bustling

The town already boasts a multi-use games area, tennis courts, play park and skate park. A leisure centre, outdoor pitches, and a cricket pavilion will follow next, in what is to become a leading local destination for community sport and recreation.

The first school opened in 2018, and in 2021 the first sports and play facilities opened, as well as Sherford Community Hub. This is a dedicated space for community groups to meet, activities to take place, and for services to be delivered – from midwife clinics and adult education classes, to yoga classes and toddler groups.

Plentiful green space

Virtually as much of Sherford is dedicated to well thought out green space as is dedicated to construction. This means that wherever you live in Sherford, you either look out over green space or are quickly connected to it.

Green space runs throughout Sherford, with an ever-growing amount and variety of spaces for walks, picnics, adventure and play.

500 acre country park

The first phase of Sherford’s 500 acre Country Park is already open. The vision for the Country Park will see it support both biodiversity and wellbeing, with wetlands, wildflower meadows, woodland areas, adventure play areas, and walking and cycling tracks connecting Sherford to the wider area.

Sherford is set to be one of the most ecologically diverse locations in the region, with plentiful green space to encourage people to meet and socialise outdoors.
