TEMPORARY TRAFFIC LIGHTS TO BE REDUCED
There has been a significant amount of construction activity around Equinox Road and Nimbus Road in recent months, especially around the developers’ compounds - and this has required several sets of temporary traffic lights to ensure the safety of road users, residents, and site teams.
This work is progressing well, and the Consortium is now in a position to reduce the number of temporary traffic lights in place.
What is happening
Most of the current temporary traffic lights will be removed on Friday 5th December, with just four sets remaining along Equinox Road. This follows new white lines being added to the roads on Thursday 4th December, helping improve the flow of traffic up and down Nimbus Road.
Looking ahead to the New Year, the intention is to reduce the number of traffic lights further, with plans to bring the remaining four sets down to two as works continue to progress.
Why this is happening
These changes are being made to ease delays and minimise inconvenience for residents wherever possible, while still prioritising the safety of everyone around the site.
With adjusted traffic-management requirements and updated delivery routes planned for the New Year, fewer temporary controls will be needed.
Thank you
We appreciate residents’ patience during this busy period of development - and those travelling through Sherford. Every decision has been made with safety in mind first and foremost, and the site team will continue to monitor traffic management closely.
Updates will be shared as works progress into the New Year.
