RED LION HILL/STAMPS HILL CLOSURE BEGINS
A section of road has recently been closed on Stamps Hill / Red Lion Hill. As Sherford continues to grow and develop, work is sometimes necessary on the existing road network in the local area. The road closure is essential for a new section of Sherford to be built, and for a new route to be created.
The work began in January and is expected to take up to 16 months to be completed and part of Stamps Hill / Red Lion Hill will remained closed during this time. Following the work, a new route will open, connecting Stamps Hill to the newly created Southern Avenue in Sherford. More information on this new route will be shared nearer the time.
This work has been agreed with Devon County Council and Plymouth City Council, and diversions have been agreed to enable alternative routes around this area. To connect Brixton with Sherford and the A38 during the closure, diversions will be in place along Hercules Road, Haye Road and the A379.
Please note that businesses on Stamps Hill/Red Lion Hill - such as South West Composting, BAPelicious food van and farm shop - remain open and are well worth a visit.
The Sherford Consortium apologises for any inconvenience caused during this essential work. If you have any questions, you can email the project team at info@sherford.uk or ring the information line on 07960 540438.
