MONTHLY UPDATE: DECEMBER 2023
This is the first in a new series of updates, which will be posted at the beginning of each month to provide a snapshot of what is happening at Sherford, what work is planned on site in the month ahead, and any important developments to note.
This December you will see a great deal of activity around the local centre, which is the location of Sherford Vale primary school, Sherford Community Hub, and House of Brews coffee shop. The Christmas tree will arrive ahead of the community celebrations, the new temporary shop has been delivered, and a new bus stop is being installed. A new sub-station is also going online which will provide power for this area.
The new wing being created for Sherford Vale is progressing well with the external frame now up. The extension to the school is a huge step forward and will double its current capacity. As with many major developments, timelines can move as projects progress - and in this instance it means that the opening date for the new wing of the school has shifted into the summer. It is now expected to be complete in June/July.
Work is being carried out across all of the first phase of Sherford to identify any missing road signs and to order and install these. We know residents have flagged a number of signs yet to be installed - and the team is on the case with these now.
