WHERE TO FIND GRIT BINS IN SHERFORD
To support residents during periods of cold weather, 12 new grit bins have been installed across Sherford, bringing the total number to 18.
The bins are located throughout the main, occupied residential areas, as well as the local centre:
- In Phase 1.A, two bins are located either side of the School Square
- Phase 1.1 has bins on Pegasus Place and Capricorn Way
- Phase 1.B bins can be found on Strawberry Lane, Sycamore Way, Tulip Lane and Wagtail Avenue
- In Phase 2.D, bins are positioned on Zeus Avenue, Nimbus Road, Sunbeam Close, Cirrus Avenue, Alto Road and Lunar Crescent.
Supplied and filled by the Sherford Consortium, the bins are available for residents to use as needed when temperatures drop and icy conditions affect local roads and pavements.
During cold spells, residents are encouraged to make use of the grit bins to treat roads, paths and driveways around their homes. When using the bins, please take a fair amount to ensure grit remains available for others who may need it.
