PLANNED INSPECTION WORK THIS JUNE/JULY
Residents in Sherford's first phase should expect to see inspection teams working in their area over the coming 4-6 weeks as essential drainage system monitoring gets underway.
Starting the week of 2nd June, specialist CCTV inspections will be carried out on the drainage network around Hercules Road and surrounding streets.
This mandatory inspection process is a crucial step before the underground infrastructure can be officially handed over to South West Water for adoption.
What to Expect
Residents may notice some disruption as manhole covers are removed for inspection, and will see Glanville Environmental's team moving through different streets to assess the drain and sewer system infrastructure.
The work is part of the broader handover process that will see Sherford's roads and services adopted by local authorities and utility providers.
Areas Affected
The main streets included in this project are Hercules Road, Lynx Lane, Libra Avenue, Aries Lane, Pegasus Place, Indus Place, Vela Row, and Aquarius Drive.
Glanville Environmental will be handling the work and will issue letters directly to affected residents. They will also manage any necessary traffic diversions during the inspection period.
Evening Work on Hercules Road
In the final week of the project, most work will focus on Hercules Road itself.
To minimise disruption to traffic on this busy main route and ensure the safety of the inspection team, this work is planned to take place in the evenings. Every effort will be made to complete the work as quickly as possible, with all activities finishing by 10pm at the latest.
We appreciate your patience during this important and necessary process.
