UPDATE ON SHERFORD’S LEISURE FACILITIES
In September 2023, planning consent was granted for the Leisure Centre, which was an important milestone. Since then, the Sherford Consortium has been engaging with design and build contractors about the creation of this facility, and with operators capable of running the leisure centre on a day-to-day basis.
This tender process takes time but is designed to secure a high-quality facility, exceptional service, and value for money. These discussions are an important step and part of a longer journey to develop this facility. Sherford Leisure Centre is a multi-million-pound project requiring significant investment to bring it to fruition - and this requires careful consideration and planning.
The Sherford Consortium is committed to expanding the sports and leisure facilities within the community - and will soon deliver some exciting new amenities. Sherford’s western sports pitches are set to open shortly, with the final preparations underway now. This will give residents and the wider community access to an all-weather pitch, a full-size grass pitch, and more tennis courts.
