PLANNING GO-AHEAD FOR MAJOR MILESTONES
Planning consent has been granted for Sherford Leisure Centre and Sherford Business Park, which is good news as it unlocks these key amenities for both the new town and wider area. Both represent important milestones and a step forward for these major projects.
For the leisure centre, having the plans for the state-of-the-art new facility approved is one of the first steps in a longer journey. While the leisure centre project progresses, we are pleased to announce that Sherford’s western sports pitches will open soon, with access to an all-weather 3G and grass pitches. This will be followed by a cricket pavilion, cricket pitch, full-size football pitch and two five-a-side football pitches to the north of the community.
Consent was also granted for the provision of infrastructure at Sherford Business Park. This permission will allow the installation of highways, drainage and associated green infrastructure. With up to half a million sq. ft of space across 33-acres, Sherford Business Park will be the ideal location for businesses looking to grow and expand, and we believe it will be one of the region’s most impressive business districts.
Part of Sherford Business Park sits within the Plymouth and South Devon Freeport zone, which has great potential to boost local trade and generate job opportunities. It is another draw to the growing town of Sherford, which is one of the most ambitious developments in the UK.
