SHERFORD VALE LEGO CHALLENGE
Work to create the new wing of Sherford Vale is now well underway. The expansion is welcomed by staff and pupils alike, who look forward to welcoming many more families into the community. And the school is embracing the expansion, seizing it as a learning opportunity!
Susie Evans, Headteacher at Sherford Vale sets the scene: “For our existing pupils, the extension is an exciting learning opportunity. The children are keen to be involved – from creating LEGO models of the new extension to getting hands on with art, design and landscaping projects.”
Children across the school were asked to get creative and design their new classrooms on paper. Winners were selected from a range of age groups, and they re-created their classrooms plans in LEGO - showing off some daring design and budding building skills in the process!
Susie adds: "They loved this and are so proud of their builds! We have found some amazing architects and designers of the future and hope the children can engage in even more engineering and design tasks over the duration of the building of the second wing of their school."
